I've been told cosmetics like razors are hard to find in Vietnam. As well as to bring a pair of ear plugs, converter/ adapters, a bumper sticker (for the motor bike), and DEET mosquito repellent. Are there any other things that can't be easily purchased over there that I should bring form the states?

Razors are abundant. Bring earplugs. Converter/Adapters are abundant. Bring a bumper sticker. Don't know about mosquito repellent.

I've found everything I need here except shoes. You can get dress shoes made, but it's nigh impossible to find large sneakers. All other clothes are abundant (and the tailoring is great).

So, just about everything is here except sneakers. In fact, imho, pack LIGHT. Pack light. Save the room for sneakers. Pack light and bring sneakers.

Last time I went home I brought back enough shaving gel and after shave gel to last a year at least. It didn't take up so much room.

I brought a foot pump with a gauge too. My bike has big tyres and the guys at the roadside know nothing about correct tyre pressures.

That's about all I can't get here (at the right price anyway).

Probably not all exactly essential, but loads of ideas anyway:
