I've tried a couple of vpn and could not unblock skype. I am dependent on it so if anyone has a super trick please pm me. I don't want to pay for the service if it isn't going to work and as well
I keep hearing there are free ones but have not had any luck. I have a phone number where people can call me o skype so would really appreciate any help getting it unblocked. thanks so much! |

I thought you were in Oman. I know that those who had it on their computer before they arrived in the UAE could use it... but it can't be downloaded there. I'm not sure about Oman. I thought that it was blocked there.

Skype to Skype works (assuming it has been down loaded onto your computer already). As for other stuff like calling a landline or mobile from your Skype account that hasn't worked for me. Perhaps the same is true for your Skype phone number. Can't you stick with Skype names and Skype to Skype? |

You need a VPN service - and won't be able to get that VPN service until you're out-of-country (the powers that be don't like VPN, since it opens you up to the world of haram) |

I'm puzzled as to why I was able to get a VPN in Saudi but you guys can't find an unblocked route to one in the UAE.
The NY Times has an article today listing several you might not have heard of. Pay attention to the reader comments as well--they list some more. |

It all seems quite arbitary - for some reason I can access Skype at work in the UAE but not at home. Others who have installed Skype from outside the UAE can access Skype in my house, whereas I cannot!
Get a free vpn on a USB and install it - see if then u can access Skype. If not, use that vpn to search for ones you can pay for and pay - no matter what u pay, the savings will more than compensate. |

I pay gladly--aside from blocking issues, the VPN gives me direct access to video streaming from the US and the West. |

Is your work anxious to appeal to westerners, who don't believe in censorship? |
