Hi, I'm currently trying to get work in Oman as I have been told that it is much better than Saudi.....Can anyone tell me about what it is like living there as an English teacher who doesn't speak any Arabic? I have a interest from the University in Sohar, and CFBT also contacted me about work in Ibri, and finally another recruiter has contacted me and i'm not sure for where in Oman...I was hoping to find work in Muscat because I thought it would be the best for me (big capital city on the coast) but it seems very difficult to get work there...?
Can people tell me anything they know about life in Sohar, Ibri, or Muscat...
thanks a million... |

Right now, for entry level jobs, it is the recruiter jobs outside of Muscat that will be your best chance.
You can use the search mechanism to find discussion of Ibri and Sohar... and probably google up some things too. I'd do some reading and research and narrow down your questions.

BTW - very few EFL teachers know any Arabic. English is the language of commerce in the Gulf... most signs are bi-lingual too. |
