Hi, I'd like to get some information about the possibility of become an english teacher in Russia being non native (I'm spanish).
With a high level of english and a CELTA qualification, is there any chance to be hired?

I only know one native speaker of Spanish in Moscow, and though he works here, he is not on any kind of work visa. I also know a few Germans who teach German and have work visas, but who also double as English teachers on the side. I would say that it is possible for you to get work here, though for visa purposes you might be a Spanish teacher. Any of the McSchools will probably hire you as such and then have you teach English, and you can always teach privately as well. Be prepared for the occasional rejection, though. I've been turned away from English teaching jobs by virtue of being American.

Jobs are available. Plenty of non-natives have taught English in McSchools. BKC's Globus school also hires Modern Languages teachers. Wouldn't worry about being a native English speaker re visas. You might not even be getting a teacher visa officially, so it doesn't matter.

Yspanski76, if you have a CELTA then you can teach English in Russia regardless of your nationality.
There are some schools in Moscow with bilingual teachers who teach two languages.

Very possible in smaller cities. You could teach English and Spanish. Being a native Spanish speaker could be a great advantage.
