I notice that the award says, 'CELTA Course Online'. Will that be stated on the certificate? Will employers value this as much as a 'regular' CELTA? |

Good question. I honestly don't know. Maybe email them? |

(From the Cambridge CELTA Course Online FAQs, http://www.cambridgeesol.org/faq/celta-online.html)
Will the fact that Ive taken Cambridge CELTA Course Online appear on my certificate?
Cambridge CELTA Course Online leads to exactly the same certificate as the face-to-face CELTA. Assessed outcomes are the same for all trainees so there is no need for separate certification. Courses are assessed locally. The assessor observes face-to-face teaching practice and has access to online materials. |

Well, if the face-to-face teaching is assessed, then the only difference I see is that the 'input sessions' will be done online. The major part of the CELTA is the teaching observation, as this will be the same as the 'regular' CELTA, I wouldn't have thought employers would discriminate. |

THe benefit for teachers is that it would cut the time they'd have to take off work. INstead of needing a month or five weeks, they could do it much faster.
Hopefully employers won't discriminate, some will though, I'm sure. Just like the discriminate between on-site and online MA courses. And there was no teaching practice for my MA. |

The fact that an applicant's CELTA was completed via blended learning most likely won't be an issue with employers. They probably won't ask because they won't care; it's still a CELTA and to question if it had been completed online is to question Cambridge's standards. And frankly, it might take a while for some employers to even realize an online CELTA course exists. |
