Hi- i just went in for a second interview (the demo class) at wall street in Shanghai. Does anyone here work for them or have any advice? The only real down side I can tell thus far is not having repeat students..... I was looking forward to building up relationships with them... Hmm, any thoughts out there??

Depends on the contract. What do you mean by, "The only real down side I can tell thus far is not having repeat students"?

I think ill sign on for the 25 hour contract at first and see if i want to increase hours. they told me that each class has new students. i guess they come back for the english corners and social clubs, but it looks like the idea is to have as many different foreign teachers as possible. I was just looking forward to getting to know the students more. Is is the same way for you? How do you find it?

Each "class/encounter" will have different students (sometimes), but, you will most likely see the regular students almost daily, either around the building or in a different "class/encounter". (Watch/help them progress)

For example -

Encounter 1 = students A,B,C,D
Encounter 2 = B,D,E,F
Encounter 3 = A,B,G,J etc..

Good Luck!

I work at WSE Shenzhen, been there since August. I wanted a full time contract but they initially gave me the 25hr. I told my manager a few times and as of last week I am officially full time (& off probation). Looking back, I say it's the BEST system- at the beginning you need to plan ALL your Encounters (there's 48 you must do before ending probation, but you will also likely get higher ss), as well as CC's (Complimentary Classes. Like Encounters, CC's don't change, so it's also extremely wise to also get all of these planned too. You will find in the first couple of months, despite doing 25 hrs that you are doing full time hours to get everything done.

I like being able to repeat ss, especially when they really need to. Sometimes you really need to lay it down to them, and the Study Advisors will come talk to you in their defence as well but...good English is why they are there! I actually don't think I repeat enough!
