|
|
I have a bachelor's degree from a U. of California, a 120-hour TEFL cert from the U. of Arizona and six years of teaching experience.
I'm looking for an online M.A. program that will be useful in pursuing work in Europe (I'm a dual national and have an EU passport), South America, Asia, or wherever - those three regions are my first choices but I'll always consider other areas.
There are more than 70 online schools that offer an M.A. in TESOL. I'm guessing the ones that have established brick & mortar campuses carry the most legitimacy? What else should I look for in an online program? |

Lots of views but no responses. Maybe I should have asked if anyone has experiences with these online programs:
Arizona State University, M.A. in TESOL
Anaheim University, M.A. in TESOL
Northern Arizona University, M.Ed. Bilingual and Multicultural Education/ESL
Grand Canyon University, M.Ed. TESOL
Emporia State University, M.A. TESOL |

As you're considering Europe, I'd suggest looking into some of the reputable British universities that offer distance (not online) MA programmes: Birmingham, Edinburgh, and others. Degrees from these will be better-received than online US programmes in Europe in many cases. |

Thanks, spiral78. Do you know if it's more or less difficult to get funding for those programs from overseas? I'm trying to avoid going into debt for this degree if possible; I don't currently have any debt and I don't want any. |

I'm not sure what you mean by 'getting funding.' I don't know of scholarships for such post-grad degrees, if that's what you mean. They're not cheap, but are worth it in terms of the boost they can give a career. |
