Hi to all in Saudi land.
I have an interview next month in Australia for a position at Saudi Aramco at the Industrial Training facility (wherever that is in the country). I would like to hear people views and tips on the working and living conditions for such a position. I have read a fair bit on this forum and it has led me to believe they are the best employer to work for in the region.
The information thus far provided has shown 4 different compounds available for company employees. not knowing where the training facitiy is I am still in the dark about many things....
Is booze illegal in these compounds? Could be rather boring.....however I need to save money and thats why I am considering it.
Also, if anyone has interviewed with them, could you pass on any tips for the interview.....suit? etc..? I do believe its a direct hire(least Im hoping) but they have used a recruiting company to forward them the resumes and they choose who they want to meet.
Thank you in advance.

It's a recruiter. If it were Aramco Direct, you'd get a phone call and an email from an Aramco HR person directly, not through some recruiter.
It's what it is! |

Thanks,
Yes its a recruitment company based in melbourne. I assume they would get paid for their services. The employment will be with Saudi Aramco. This is an assumption on my part. |

You'll be teaching in the ITC and rubbing shoulders with those who were hired Direct and live on their compound...and you'll hate every day you go to work knowing how good they've got it and you don't.
It's like it happens all the time! |

I just mailed the recruitment guy and asked him...
His response was this.....
Hi .......
We recruit for Aramco directly there are no contractors involved, the people coming out to interview are Aramcons.
Director, Industrial Training Dept.
Asst. Supt., NAITD-Academic Section
Sr. ITC Teacher, Jeddah Academic
Employment Representative |

Good luck with that then. A guy fron Jeddah was part of my interview team.
Here's the kicker. Ask him if you'll be accommodated on the actual Aramco compound and will come under all of the Aramco benefits that will leave you at least a millionaire after 10 years with the company. If he balks, you'll know.
they can call anyone an "Aramcon". But if they can't offer you ALL of the Aramcon benes, then they're blowing smoke up your skirt!
It's a different way that Aramco's recruiting then.
P.s.-The starting salary is a dead giveaway as well! If it isn't north of $100k and makes your ghutra spin, then he's feeding you a line. |

The starting salary may be too low.
So you may have noodles for dinner everynight.

base salary of 30,000 per month..?
I figure it will take 2,000 AUD per week to get me there.
Thats 8,000 AUD per month.
Todays exchange rate 0.2595 = 30,828 per month....
Thats not scary at all! |

Dear VS,
I'm guessing Australian dollars. Pretty close to the US dollar: 100 Australian dollars = 101.76 US.

All these initials drive me crazy. I prefer US$ and A$ and NZ$
I know... they all have initials now for the computer systems.
