I wonder how Gaddafi will go...dragged out of a hole like Saddam, arrested like his sons, or slipping into the night to re-appear in exile somewhere.

What remains of his supporters feverishly paging through The Green Book. "Where is the chapter on what to do in this situation?!"

Saudi Arabia might take him. They took in Idi Amin and the Tunisian guy. Fitting place for a tyrant to end his days. Wink

Dear sheik,

That might depend on just how forgiving King Abdullah is -

March 2009
" Doha, Qatar - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi stormed out of an Arab summit on Monday after denouncing the Saudi king for his long ties to the West.

Gaddafi disrupted the opening Arab League session in Qatar by taking a microphone and criticising Saudi's King Abdullah, calling him a "British product and American ally".

Gaddafi has harboured a grudge against Abdullah since exchanging harsh words during a summit in early 2003 shortly before the US-led invasion of Iraq.

"Now after six years, it has proved that you were the liar," Gaddafi said, adding that he now considered their "problem" over and was ready to reconcile.

But when the emir of Qatar tried to quiet Gaddafi, the Libyan leader insisted on speaking to the summit.

"I am an international leader, the dean of the Arab rulers, the king of kings of Africa and the imam (leader) of Muslims and my international status does not allow me to descend to a lower level," Gaddafi said before getting up and walking out of the hall."

The moral of that may be - Don't burn any bridges ahead of you.
Regards,

John

Maybe not the Magic Kingdom then for Muammar. What about Venezuela? Or has the mad dog riled Chaves at some time?

I agree. Qaddafi might head off to stay with one of his buds in Venezuela, Cuba, or somewhere in sub-Saharan Africa. Most likely a "no" on KSA since there's no love lost between him and the Kingdom. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if he left Libya days ago.

Tripoli is not falling. nato simply shipped in a bunch of rebels (nato troops) to the city, continually bombed their infrastructure, and claimed it as a victory. Any self respecting Libyan is fighting to make sure nato does not take control.

Anywhere nato goes you see years of war and lots of civilian deaths.

NATO at its best. Why do our governments do this?

I believe there is a thread about rioting/looting in England here. People are appalled by what happened there. Why is it acceptable to train, arm, and insert looters in foreign countries?

Qaddafi might fall, but why?

Grotesque people in government. The revolts should be happening in Europe and North America. Which side do you think the NATO troops would be on?

Good luck everyone

thank the all-powerful spaghetti munster that NATO was
there to protect the civilians of sirte and bani walid! that
R2P deal from the UN gave them the authority to bomb
rebel forces who were using tanks and artillery on a city
of half a million defended by a few hundred soldiers loyal
to their government.

what? NATO didn't...........oh, never mind.
