|
|
I've heard of websites like Footprints and Teach Away, that recruit people to teach abroad. Has anyone on here dealt with recuiters? What was your experience like?
I'm asking because I'm considering teaching abroad because the job market is so horrible. However, I'm hesitant to do so because of my last teaching experience. I worked in Asia and got screwed over by my racist employer (I'm a Black female). I don't want that to happen again, so I'm being very cautious. |

I contacted TeachAway and they were very professional and helpful. I got a job in Korea and I had no problems with TeachAway. They put on a dinner for all their recruits in Seoul and that was nice to meet other teachers and hear about their experiences. |

Good!
Now what has your experience been like? Have you had any problems due to xenophobia? If you have any problems with your job, does Teach Away help you? |

I had no problems with xenophobia. I didn't mind being around mostly Koreans. My Korean friends are awesome and very friendly as are my westerner friends. Even though I'm no longer in Korea we all still keep in touch and visit each other from time to time.
I don't know if TeachAway helps you out if you have problems with your employer. You can always inquire if you call TeachAway for more information. |
