As far as Vietnamese universities go, you will need sponsorship to work there as the ministry of education does not allow universities to hire foreigners without this intermediary. VSO, VIA, WUSC, ELI are three volunteer organizations that place people in our town. There are also teachers sponsored by Kent State University teaching here. The wage is a local one i.e. quite low, but some of the NGO's will give you a stipend.
There is a foreign university in Saigon, with a new branch in Hanoi, the Australian RMIT which may hire foreigners, look into it.
