November 4 Demonstration in Lublino District of Moscow

Police reports indicate a large-scale nationalist demonstration will
occur in the Lublino District, southeast of downtown Moscow, between the
areas of the Lublino and Bratislavskaya Metro stations on the afternoon
of Friday, November 4. An estimated 20,000 demonstrators are expected
to begin gathering on Pererva Ulitza at 1:00 pm and then march to the
National Soldier Monument on Ulitza Lublinskya, near the Bratislavskaya
Metro, at 2:00 pm. Political speeches and music will follow, ending at
approximately 3:00 pm. There will be a large police presence to monitor
all activities.

Due to the possibility of violence, the Embassy strongly advises all
U.S. citizens to avoid these areas entirely. U.S. citizens are reminded
of the violence that occurred during nationalist protests earlier this
year. Spontaneous demonstrations of support may appear anywhere
throughout the city, at any time of day. Equally possible are
counter-demonstrations staged by groups opposed to nationalist
sentiments. Friday is a Russian holiday and all are reminded to
exercise caution when traveling throughout the city.

Best to avoid these places tomorrow, especially if you do not look Russian or can not speak Russian.
