Those of you who teach in public schools know that student motivation is really..... lacking. The long winter takes its toll and now that warm weather is here a lot of my students are face down on their desks....absent.....or other.

a fellow teacher told me that there is a govm't agency that goes to FT classrooms just to check up and see that they are getting thier money's worth. All inspections are surprise and unannounced. All my students have taken the TOEFL exam.....should I teach them note-taking and listening skills or should I join them face down on the desk?

I have been in China for over 5 years, and I have never heard of that.

I wish there were an agency to take care of threads like this one.

I did just hear of (this morning) a form given to some teachers at a quasi international school...a form to be filled out with additional information .. like parents home and such .... religious affiliations.....

I had to fill out a form last year .. and submit paperwork to the FE office....could be the same

In June I start to realise how short the semester is and how I need to plan my assessments etc.
I don't think my students ever noticed a ramp up in intensity but then I never noticed a slacking off on their part.
That's except for the ones who slack from Day One.
