www.mychinavisa.com out of Houston is good. Simply send them your passport and papers and they'll take care of it.

I assume that is your question.

Thanks for the information.

I think we are supposed to use our nearest consulate?

Or does it matter?

If I live nearest the Chicago one - can the person in Houston just take it to the Houston consulate?

I think you're technically supposed to use the nearest consulate, but I have never heard of a problem for anyone who didn't. The Houston consulate is not my local consulate but I have always used them, generally via China Visa Service Center mentioned in the first link posted above. They've always been perfect for me.

I just noticed on the website link I sent that they have offices in Chicago and SF. It is a very simple process - send them your passport and papers via FedEx and within a week you'll get the passport back with the Z visa in it, also via FedEx.

Have Fun & Good Luck!

I've used both those services in the past and PandaVisa.com and found the later to be a little more friendly to use.

If you live near the consulate then go there yourself and save the agent fee. PandaVisa charges $15.99 for what they call a "TravelPro" discount but you have to apply a few weeks ahead of time. Their regular service is about $32, about -$18 less than zvs and takes 5-7 days.

I used a service called Travel Documents, they went the extra mile by fixing my application form for me. Apparently the work address I put down was my school's address and I needed my stateside employment address. They cribbed some junk up off of google and got me the visa on time.

You've provided absolutely no useful information. What is your country of citizenship. What kind of visa do you want, etc. Nobody can help you without the necessary information.

managed to obtain a visa in the advertised time, although
most of houston was shut down at the time due to hurricane.

I am a Canadian citizen from near Toronto. I need to get a Chinese z visa from Korea. Can anyone recommend a visa courier service?

Have you definitely exhausted your options from the embassy/consulates in Korea?
Keep hearing rumors of travel agents (Kangsan, Soho, Xanadu) being able to do on your behalf under a few certain conditions. Obtaining a Foreign Residence Certificate (외국인사실증명서) from your local City Hall being one of them. Of course the rules and changes seem to change as fast as the Consul-General changes his underwear. Will likely be in your same situation in the near future, and [sarcasm mode] God forbid I have to escape a Korean winter and head down to BKK to apply.
Curious to hear how you go.

My situation is a little tricky. I am actually in Canada right now, I'll start working in China in February, but I want to go to Seoul for a few months to close bank accoubts/cell phone, pick up belongings, and just hang out with friends.

I'm trying to figure out the best course of action that will allow me to leave for Seoul as soon as possible without screwing up the visa process for a Chinese Z visa,.

I live close to Chicago. Is it just as well to prepare the paperwork and take it to the consulate there myself (to get a z visa)? If you do that, are they able to provide you with the visa there on the same day, or do you have to leave your materials with them?
