wondered if anyone could give recommendations for a shop(s) in Jinan to stock up on butter,cheese and other western foodstuffs? going there for the weekend and would appreciate heads up from locals - also are tghere any decent coffee shops there? appreciate any help. rob |

I used to make a monthly trek to Hong Kong to buy all the stuff I couldn't get where I live. Got tired of that and started ordering everything I needed off of Taobao (and they do have almost everything). If you don't have a Taobao account, a Chinese friend or student surely does and they'll help you out. Give it a try. |

Specific, monthly trips to Hong Kong ... seems sadly moronic. W O W
Jinan has a Wal-Mart, Carrefour, a Chinese place called RT-Mart which is across the road from Jenny's Market and Jenny's Cafe. All findable with Google. Starbucks and UBC Cafe suffice as well.
They have, for the most part, what you will want. |
