Can I bring it to keep or will it be confiscated? |

You will have no problem with one Bible, whatsoever. I took one through many times, with never even a question being asked during the bag-search. Now, they don't even search, they just use a scanner, because they're looking for narcotics and weapons. Sometimes, DVDs may be checked for porn.
The Bible is not even an issue. If you have 20 copies, on the other hand, then some questions may be asked! |

One personal Bible is good. No problem.
But...
One Playboy magazine is not good. Big problem. |

They didn't bother to even look in my carry-on, which contained my laptop, mp3 player, and portable hard drive. I breezed right on through security. There's already a thread on this topic at http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=85063. |

I was always paranoid about getting searched by Saudi customs, and getting stuff confiscated. I went in and out of the country half a dozen times, and only ever had my carry-on luggage searched once. That was during Eid, when I've been told they are a bit more stringent. It took a few minutes and nothing was confiscated. My checked baggage was never an issue at all. I was scared of having my laptop looked at as well, but really they don't have time to screen all laptops going in and out. You might be unlucky and get a random check, but I'd say it's 100-1 chance at the most. I knew plenty teachers who took videos with them on external hard drives, with no problems at all. After the first few times of going through customs, I stopped worrying about what was on my laptop. |
