Now that I have an interview in a few days,
am I going to be asked to get a criminal background
check for teaching in the UAE? Is this absolutely mandatory,
like Korea? Anyone know for sure? DM

I know HCT requires one and probably other government sponsored schools do too.

I haven't heard of any institutions requiring one - not HCT either, but there may be military employers that require it. A "security check" is done on every teacher that gets a work visa, but it is done with no input from you and is rather cursory.

ADEC requires a CRC. Well, the recruiters do. And ADEC uses recruiters exclusively.

HCT or maybe it's immigration does a security check which Millie may be confusing with a CRC. I have no idea what the check entails - which country(ies) if any they contact, of if it's just an internal search.
