|
|
Hi Guys,
I'm negotiating contracts and want to move from Seoul to China to teach at a University. Could you guys give me tips on negotiation?
1. For a career-oriented (rather than a partying-oriented) guy, what are the best conditions to look for:
- Location near a major metropolitan area (Beijing, etc.)?
- Free Mandarin Lessons?
- Free Liaison who can translate Mandarin-English?
2. How can I spot a good university from a bad one?
Thank you for the consideration. (You guys have been really helpful). |

Might try posting on the China forum.
Basically, if they call you in the middle of the night to interview you.
Get back to you within hours.
Want you to go NOW
Are hiring tons of teachers.
Those are some red flags. Sure, some of them might be legit, hiring tons of teachers because they're expanding, but more often than not it's because the old ones have left.
Also, free Chinese, liasion, etc, those can be promised to you, they can promise the world. That doesn't mean you'll necessarily get it. |
