I am in my first year teaching secondary school in Abu Dhabi. I work with ADEC, and I really am quite happy with my job. We're finishing the first term now, and it's a little bit insane - but whatever. It's a better situation by about a thousand miles than my last one in the UK.
This is not the point. I just want to preface by saying I'm quite happy in my current situation.
One day, though, I would like to move up to teaching at the university level. I have an MA, a BA, a teaching cert from the US, and 1 term of teaching uni students and adults in Thailand. What are my chances/opportunities in the UAE? Realistic, not horrible. |

Is the MA in Applied Linguistics? Are you under a 2-year contract? I'd say if you are interested in moving to tertiary level, go to TESOLArabia and scope things out and network. You could apply to those that appeal to you - after checking them out here - to start after your contract is completed.

MA is in Intercultural Studies. Thinking about doing my CELTA this summer & am doing a throwaway online TEFL course (it wins me points in my current position) now. |

As Mr Parrot suggests, that MA won't be helpful at all.
