Hello all,

This is my first time on the HK forum and I've found some wonderful information scrolling through the pages. I've been teaching on and off for about 10 years now with at least 5 or 6 of verifiable experience on the Mainland and in France.

I only have a BA in English so I know I'm not qualified for anything higher than language mills (funny how I have no problem getting high paid corporate work in Paris without the quals that seem to be required in HK but I suppose 10 year old children are more demanding than leading luxury goods execs.) but could anyone give me their thoughts on heading over after 春节.

The move is really more for personal rather than practical reasons and I have other income streams from translating and writing work, the real reason I would need a job is for HK residency as I'm American.

Depends what you are after, depends on who you want to teach, and depends on job availability.

Hit the SCMP....best place for jobs. Send in your CV....every day they will ask for something different from the next so for us to actually say that it is a good idea for you to come then, well, that would be wrong.

I'm no expert on the language mills but having hung around this forum for years I get the impression that turnover is high - so allied with your experience you probably won't have much difficulty in finding something whenever you visit. After CNY is probably as good a time as any. Best of luck.
