| Looks like a short term exchange to me? A Master Mariner friend of mine often does a few months in Guangzhou naval academy and this sounds similar. |

Scam. Run.
Not a good way to start your career in China, deceiving the consulate to get a visa which is not legal to use as an employee. |

| Not a scam, they're telling you to not mention the purpose of the F visa because to teach (in most cases) you need a Z visa. There's been debate on this forum which sort of teaching jobs can be done on an F visa and which ones can't. Don't remember the details but someone will probably remind us. |

Any legitimate university job offer should contain documents required for a "z" visa. There may be a debate but it is among people trying to justify a scam.
He's not going there for exchange. He's going to teach. If they can't get him a "z" visa there is a reason. Especially in a situation like what he's describing.
The documents are fraudulent. The job is likely to be too. "Don't tell the embassy you will be teaching." Sound legitimate? |

does this adequately describe what you intend to be doing?
vague, lawyerishy wording worthy of a clinton. |

It is another scam by Hangzhou Helen China , Helen Chen, Zhejiang University, Helen charity, Helen group, China TEFL Network, CTN , where
you volunteer your time teaching in China.
That is why it is called an "educational exchange visit", and it is a scam because you are teaching for free, or even possibly paying for the privilege of being scammed.

Btw, why would any legitimate business need to hide behind so many different names ?

| If you want an opportunity to pay your airfare and expenses to teach every week on a regular university class schedule while the recruiter keeps all of your salary, airfare allowance, a commission and god knows what else; this is your chance!! |

And further to this if you get caught, I am not sure "I... did not have.... educational relationships... with that school..." will cut the mustard.
Scam? Not sure. But:
"Do not tell the consulate the truth" sounds dodgy. |

Unless the period of the offer, or some other personal factor makes it attractive, why go with something this dodgy when there are loads of other jobs around?
The period is basically the spring semester and while this is not the high point for recruiting, there will be legit jobs available for sure, particularly if you sign up for a year (2 semesters).
A personal factor could be not wishing to go back to the USA to visa-up. Your username suggests you are away from home currently.
Getting a proper visa from a Chinese consulate in a 3rd country is uncertain.
I've never tried it but other posters have had issues.
The job that gets you to China may not be the job that keeps you in China but don't run the risk of being black listed by corner cutting at the get go. |

Has anyone actually seen Helen? Is she attractive? Is she tall or short, fat or thin, short or long hair? Can she speak English? Is she married? Does she date "foreigners?" Is she from the countryside?
If she is married, what kind of guy is her husband?
Does she accept "dirty money" in exchange for a better job?
Any personal info about Helen, I would like to know. |
