I am American teacher and my wife is a qualified/licensed Filipina public school English teacher (near native English speaker) with a bachelor's degree in education. We are considering a move from Korea to the Gulf region in the near future. I have Gulf experience but she doesn't.
I can remember hearing some negative things about the Choueifat schools in years past, but I can't recall specifics. Anyway, I'm thinking it might be a good place for her to get her foot in the door in the region, and then move on to something better once she finishes her master's degree.
What do you think? |

Do a search both here and on "The Google"... Sabis / Choueifat.
They have schools all over the Middle East and range from nearly tolerable to terrible.

It's strange, but just this morning I received an e-mail from Choueifat, thanking me for expressing an interest in working for them in the UAE, and asking me to fill out the application form, etc, etc...
What's strange here is that I have NEVER applied to work at Choueifat, as I don't do secondary/high school, so where the hell did they get my details from?
Maybe they're desperate for teachers - which is not surprising, given their basement-level reputation. But at this time of the year - already?! |
