|
|
Hello all.
I recently began the application process with AEON and ECC, and am awaiting any news if they'll grant me an interview. However, I was suddenly told that I will have a phone interview with a company in Russia next week. If I do well, I'll definitely go to Russia instead of Japan - I had simply given up on it because the company took so long to get back to me, it really was a bolt out of the blue.
My question is thus: Is it possible for me to still attend the eikaiwa interviews, and if I'm successful, arrange to begin a contract in a year, i.e. after my Russian contract is complete? Or would I have to completely decline the interviews, and just begin anew next year? Do I stay 'on the books' of the schools or do they just forget about me?
I suspect it's the latter. But as always, any confirmation by someone in the know would be appreciated. |

Of course.

I would think that would be unlikely. They are probably looking to hire you for a starting point around April this year.

Those 2 schools are huge, so it's hard to say whether they will keep you on their books. More than one person handles recruiting, so my guess would be that you would be on their computer records, but to what end I can't say. The main point is that you should still feel free to interview with them if you like, but if your intention is just to negotiate a job more than a year from now, I would think it would be pointless.
The thing is, you haven't even interviewed with the Russian employer yet, and you are expecting to automatically get that job (and be told so in a big hurry). Don't count on that, either. Go to all the interviews you can and see what happens. Keep your options open. |
