Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of any schools/jobs in HK which will sort out the paperwork for your visa in the first year?

Searching the jobs forums does give a couple of results of this ilk, but does anyone have personal experience of any organisations which may have snuck under my radar?

Thanks in advance!

"Real" schools all provide visas, but note that these also require a much higher level of qualifications that a generic bachelor's degree (unlike mainland China).
Language mills/ tutorial centres/ kindergartens will often specify in their advertising whether they will provide visa sponsorship or they need people who already have the right to work in HK (usually people who already have permanent resident status or those on a dependent's visa). These places do NOT normally hire people that they haven't interviewed in HK.
It's a good idea to specify on your c.v. if you already have right to work in Hong Kong.

It turned out to be a job rather than a school.

Just a summary of my experience in case anyone is in a similar position:
There are a number of companies who act like agencies here to provide local schools with English-speaking teachers for anything from a 2 hour lesson up to a full-time year long post.

It's ok to apply for jobs advertised outside of HK but a surprising number of organisations offer sponsorship once you get here. Especially if you are a qualified teacher in your own country. If you aren't (like I'm not) then it may be safer to apply from overseas.
