I'm considering a position at Shoaxing Yuexiu Foreign Language College. Has anyone heard of it? Ever taught there?

The last time I saw a contract from that school it was for 24 classes a week at 4700 a month.
Just ridiculous.
What are you guys being offered ?

China TEFL Network (CTN) has ties with that school.
If you choose to work for that school make sure that you apply directly to the school and not through Hangzhou Helen's CTN.

What I've heard is the pay is low in relation to the hours worked and it doesn't really matter what you teach because it is the Chinese professors that determine the final grade in conjunction with administration.

In other words, you are simply an attraction (or an actor) for the school to say "Look, we have real foreigners teaching in our foreign language school! That's why we charge so much!" and no students will take your classes seriously because they are pretty much promised a diploma after serving their time. A small select few might, but your classes will not be important for many to even attend.

I don't think anyone will enjoy their wasted year teaching there.
