I came across the above article. It outlines the basic types of intl schools. I for one, didn't know that British schools were "private entities". I knew that the US and Canada closely governs overseas schools. IBO schools are also mentioned. YOu might also want to take a look at these lists of schools

British: http://www.cobis.org.uk scroll to the bottom and you can see those in the COBIS grouping as well as the next section which is other British schools
Canadian: http://www.cicic.ca/716/canadian-schools-outside-canada.canada there are only 83!
