An interesting announcement caught my attention by pure accident:
"In the matter the (sic!) Supreme COurt of British Columbia
Action No. S031587, Vancouver Registry,
versus
Ho Hau Wong (Defendant) Lee Ming Hing (Defendant)
Former Governor of Former Governor of Hong Kong Pui
Hong Kong Pui Ching Ching Alumni Association
Middle School... Former Governor of Guangzhou
Former Governor of Huadu Pui Ching Commercial College
Guangzhou Huadu Pui Ching
Commercial College
For soliciting by misrepresentation from Koo Ming Kown a donation of CAD$1,750.00 to Guangzhou Huadu Pui Ching Commercial College for tree plantation which claim was subsequently amended to deceiving him in the sum of CAD$ 1,750.00
Judgment entered in favour of Koo Ming Kown.
Losing parties:
Ho Hau Wong and Lee Ming Hong
must return the donation and be responsible for costs of the proceedings..."
And so on.
Haven't we heard/read of other schools - famous or not so famous - that had a brush with the law?
Yaco: Any comments? |

The names in the legal notice seem to be those of Hong Kong people as opposed to mainlanders.
I think misrepresentation, deception, fraud, graft, theft goes on a lot of the time in China, it is just that the perpetrators don't leave paper trails behind so the victims can't prosecute they.

CP - it may be interesting as general information for those of us who work at Puiching (Peizheng) Commercial College. It has zero impact on us, just interesting.
The people listed may be from HK but the college is in Huadu, part of Guangzhou. The college was started by alumni of Peizheng Middle School and is still supported by some of them. |
