Due to being unable to find suitable work I have been driving a taxi for the past year. I also work part time for a charity organization and do some private tutoring. I was wondering whether it would employers would look down on this. |

Personally, I wouldn't mention it because I think they would count it against you.

Personally I would see it as a positive. It shows you don't let anything get you down and that you are resourceful. Unfortunately, most people in education are snobs who would look down on it, as mentioned above. If possible though its good to know who you are talking to (if possible). |

I would leave off the taxi driving but include the charity organization and private tutoring. However, if you create a separate "Other employment" section on your CV/resume, then just list something like "Driver, XYZ Taxi Services" with a very basic description, if at all. (Although, "Transportation Facilitator" might jazz it up! ) |

Without a doubt, leave the taxi thing off, and only mention about the private tutoring. |

Pardon my ignorance, but what is so bad about driving a taxi?

Nothing inherently wrong with it... but most of those doing hiring in the Gulf are snobs.

If anything, taxi-driving experience shows that you can carry on a conversation!
It's a plus in my books! |

Charity work & tutoring, no problem.
Taxi driver, NO
In the west, it's another string to your bow. Saudi is not the west. |
