Hi,

can anyone recommend me a great book to help me guide me and develop my one-to-one teaching. I did the CELTA recently but am finding more luck finding private students than gettong work at schools

Also, can anybody give some me tips for doing 90 minute conversational one-to-one class. I know these usually take less preparation but I would like to apply vague structure and order to it. Thanks

Hi,

Many moons ago I read this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-Teachers-Handbook-Peter-Wilberg/dp/0906717612

and I have to confess that I'm not really familiar with what's new on the market now (at the time there was very little). There may well be better things.

It's not a quick fix book, but I think some of the background stuff on principles and approaches is really useful. It's the kind of thing you need to read and then mull over.

Hope it helps.
