Trashing the Eurozone is easy pickings in ads right now though is it not, considering the current state of affairs? Watch Fox News and you'll see all the advertisers selling end of the world gold bonds based on the impending fall of Europe.

The eurozone has its problems, no denying that. But this is nothing new: it was born amid controversy. The dollar, on the other hand, is clearly not what it used to be, so perhaps Europeans should write articles about the impending fall of the US? They probably would too, if they could get away with it. But their constituents would howl with derisive laughter at such a crass and obvious diversionary tactic...

The basic tactic employed by the entire array of Republican candidates is FEAR. Fear of 'socialism,' fear of economic disaster (that one's more realistic), fear of a 'war on religion,' fear of 'other' religions, fear of 'others' in general, fear, and more fear.

The degree to which Americans accept and believe that these things are real dangers is indeed fear-inducing .

there must be someone somewhere to blame for our trubbles.

the chinese economic threat.
the islamofascist terrorism threat.
the european socialism threat.

a few years back it was the japanese economy, the russian military,
and of course european socialism. that one's a constant.

An $8,000,000 dress? (Approximately the cost of a livable-ish annual income for around 200 people--but so much more fun!) No wonder we have such a fear-of-socialism mentality! Can't put the market for $8,000,000 dresses at risk.
