Hello,
Does anyone know if you can still re-enter the country on a tourist visa shortly after your original 90 day visa expires? I'm American. I read online that the visa regulations have changed.
Thanks |

This from the New Zealand Embassy advising Kiwis in Turkey about the change in visa regulations...
Quote: |
On the 2 January 2012 the Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised of the implementation of the 90 in 180 day rule regarding foreigners entering Turkey on a visitor visa.
The in-country period for foreigners entering Turkey on a visitor visa is not to exceed a total of 90 days within a 180 day period. This will become effective as of 01 February 2012.

Yep, unfortunately Turkey finally stopped the visa runs. I've heard you can still try it, but there's a decent chance you won't get let back in. Residency permits are quite easy to acquire, are you having a particular problem with part of it? Maybe I can help you out... |

From what I heard the policy was changed for Americans last June, but as of last November one of the Tourist Police told me that at the ferries from the Greek Islands, they'll still allowing it. The woman at esme told me to pay in Euros for a tourist visa. At the time, the 15 euro visa did not have the same fine print that 20 USD visas have (valid for 90 days period, nothing about 180). Again, this was in November. If Turkey's cracking down completely (I'm guessing the euros thing was a loophole meant for EU tourists) then you might be SOL.
Regards,
