If a foreign employee gets 9 or 10 instead of 12 monthly payments, does s/he have to pay the taxes on monthly rather than yearly basis?
I thank all, especially the more experienced and knowledgeable ones, in advance.

Yes, tax is calculated on a monthly basis for employees.
If you have a good relationship with your employer, or at least the HR department, you can get them to spread the income over 12 months. |

Thank you for the reply.
I am going to show some fondness for the HR girls this spring, and perhaps they'll agree to insert this request to my next employment agreement.
In the meantime, i'll search for any regulations that allow accounting offices to have employees pay taxes on yearly basis, although my wife (a local business woman) claims there may not be any. |

Your school may not even deduct taxes, especially if you are considered temporary. If your FAO won't/doesn't give you a tax statement, then you're not being taxed. That's what my local Chinese tax bureau told me.
Does your school give you a statement? |

Yes, i get statements for every month and i really don't feel i am a temporary employee. It's just that they don't pay the regular salary for Summer. It s*cks 'cause the ones that get paid 12 times are entitled to the 13th paycheck on mainland and many FTs seem to be brushed off nicely with a flight allowance instead of the 13th month salary plus the plane ticket. In any case, i'll have to get the teachers as well as the HR on my side, and then we'll have to present some sort of more favorable FT taxation here. |
