Hello everyone, this is my first post. I've been working in S. Korea for several years, and I've had enough of it. I have teaching experience and a graduate degree (albeit in a non-ESL related subject). How does one get their foot in the door of a decent teaching job in the Middle East.
Does a TESOL certificate help? If so, is an online certicate (120 hours) acceptable?
Thank you in advance,

Generally, the majority of Mid East employers require a CELTA or an equivalent, TEFL cert (120-hours of face-to-face instruction with a teaching practice component). I suggest you post on the general ME forum for more info, but also check out ME job ads on various employment boards to see if you would meet the basic qualifications, post-CELTA/TEFL cert. |

I'm in the Middle East and have worked in 4 countries out here over the years. Generally online certs are worth Jack. CELTA, DELTA, MA.....now they mean something. |
