Hi

My mum emailed me this TEFL online offer via Groupon today. I want to do a CELTA certificate in person, not online, but what do you guys think of this offer:

http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/tefl-express/3403093?nlp=&CID=UK_CRM_1_0_0_47&a=1664 ?

(offer ends in approximately 6 hours)

I guess you can always do this and CELTA after, right? I just wasn't sure if a - it was a good deal, and b - if there's some catch.

Cheers

My first reaction is only 6 hours? I would be suspicious on that account alone. They`re not giving you enough time to research their references.

All Groupons are that way. They are offered for a 24-hour period or until the maximum number have been sold. It counts down to 0.

It's an online course so many places won't accept it. Some places this would still work such as privately-owned, low-end chain schools, places that have their own training if needed and such.

Better than nothing but generally not considered appropriate for the person who expects to get into the high-end doing Academic English, Certificate programs, etc.

TEFL Express? that sounds so, golly, what's the word?
no, no, not 'professional,' lemme think......

i can't think of just the right term, but let's try this....fill in the blank.

panda express is to chinese food, as tefl express is to ________ .

it's a piece of paper. could be useful at a chinese university
where any sort of teaching certificate is requested.
