If someone has a teaching certificate from a particular state in America, does it have to be notorized and/or apostilled? Or would the original be enough?
Second question is that I know of someone who has a temporary one. It was good for only a certain length of time from her state. The certificate does not say the date it has expired. Will they check the present validity of it? I recommend her not to use it but if she does, how do they validate its authenticity?

I suggest contacting the document authentication dept. at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission for answers. You can find their email address at www.sacm.org/employees/directoryemp.aspx under Section Authentication Documentation.

Thanks. Interesting. I'll contact them. In the meantime, so all our docs are sent their authentication? Even if you're not in the U.S?

I got my degree authenticated while in the US, so I don't know what the process is for having it done from abroad. But that's certainly another question you can ask them.

That is a very unclear question. The embassy does not do the authentication. That has to be done by you or someone you hire to do it. The embassy is only interested in getting everything once it is authenticated.

I don't know the procedure in SA but in Korea, teaching certificates don't have to be notarized or apostilled, hence the question. Degrees and criminal background checks have to be apostilled.

That's why I asked the question. Its an added expense to have to do it and if it can be avoided I'd like to. Also, to answer a question about a friend who has one.
