I know there is a sticky above, but its title is specific to Asia. Maybe a thread to collect the obvious ones that apply to other regions would be interesting and useful.

Here's one from today's Craigslist, education, Toronto:

I learned about some real scams while living and teaching abroad. They seem to be everywhere. Be careful fellow professional TEFLer's.

Be careful when an employer says, "Come ASAP and we'll figure out the visa situation later."

Sometimes it's legit because a teacher may have left unexpectedly due to some family emergency or such, but sometimes it's just a scam. You may end up working without a visa until you have overstayed your tourist status, and then you are dumped. Hello, trouble.
