I know there is a sticky above, but its title is specific to Asia. Maybe a thread to collect the obvious ones that apply to other regions would be interesting and useful.
Got scams handy?
Here's one from today's Craigslist, education, Toronto:

I learned about some real scams while living and teaching abroad. They seem to be everywhere. Be careful fellow professional TEFLer's. |

Be careful when an employer says, "Come ASAP and we'll figure out the visa situation later."
Sometimes it's legit because a teacher may have left unexpectedly due to some family emergency or such, but sometimes it's just a scam. You may end up working without a visa until you have overstayed your tourist status, and then you are dumped. Hello, trouble. |
