Catchy title eh? Smile

Well, lets start off by saying I'm a Canadian male, 21 years old, likes long walks on the beach, and loved working in Japan on a Working Holiday Visa. I lived in Sapporo, Hokkaido while working for Peppy Kids Club from September 2001 to September 2002 (right after graduating High School).

Right now I'm waiting to be accepted into University, but I need to make some back-up plans too. I've heard rumours about Canadians applying and receiving a second Working Holiday Visa. Now, as internet rumours come, I usually don't pay any heed, but this one got my attention. Like most rumours, I can't find anyone who has any first hand knowledge of this, so I'm putting out the feelers.

If any of you have or have heard of anyone who has aquired a second WHV (Canada-Japan) that would really help me out. No better way to save money if I don't get into University this year. Wink

Thanks for your help!

Entirely possible. I had two, one year apart. First one was granted without interview. Second one I had to do an interview with a consular officer and they went over the details very, very carefully.

Did you write a letter to obtain a 2nd WHV or just go in to the office and apply as per usual?

Rules say it's not allowed.

Unless:

a) someone slipped through the beaurocratic cracks.
b) the rules have been changed recently
c) it's a false rumor.
d) they made an exception for someone (or some people)

Either way, I really wouldn't count on it. If you've already been here, maybe consider just coming on a regular tourist visa, then once you find a job, change visa status to working. You don't have to go to Korea anymore. Just don't tell them you'll be job hunting or you'll be on the first plane back to Canada.
