Assuming a generally slow response rate from employers in the KSA anyway, how much time is reasonable to keep waiting to hear back from schools/recruiters?
Would anyone happen to know what the process is like from the employer's side?
I think hiring season is up for this year, so most are already hiring for September 2012...so for these such positions, should I expect not to hear anything until August?
I was hoping to get in country by May 2012... |

Based on various job ads, some teachers are being hired on for this current academic year; however, the majority of hirings won't go into effect until late summer/early fall. May seems rather late since most school terms will begin wrapping up by then. Of course, the timing depends on the employer's schedule and need for teachers.
If you've recently applied for positions, all you can do is wait until you're contacted, and that's only if they're interested in you. (But, by all means, apply for other positions instead of passively waiting.) However, if you've already had an interview, then you should have asked about the school year at that time. Otherwise, the recruiter will contact you if they're interested in moving the process forward. Either way, it can be waiting game. |

Perhaps if there was a summer session where you apply and they need you to teach the summer session. They might process you sooner rather than later to get you here in time to teach over the summer...just a possibility...since many teachers tend to take off during summer months and not many are willing to slog it out over the summer. It may be worth mentioning just to encourage a faster response? That's suposing they have a summer session and you were willing... |
