The rule seems to be that to get a work visa you have to do it at a Turkish consulate outside of Turkey. But could an American tourist in Germany get a work visa for Turkey at the Turkish consulate in Germany, or would he have to do it at a Turkish consulate in the USA?
But the above rule, by any interpretation, seems to have an easy exception, or have I misunderstood? It seems that an American tourist in Turkey can get a job offer, and on the basis of the offer apply for a residence permit. After the residence permit is granted, he can apply for a work visa in Turkey without having to return to the US. Correct? |

I guess the problem with going to Turkey as a tourist in order to get a job offer then a residency permit then a work visa, without leaving Turkey, is getting the residency permit before your 90 day tourist visa expires. If it takes you a month to get a job offer and two months to get an appointment for the residency permit, that's cutting it close. |
