I have nothing up-to-date. Gave up checking how much worse they were getting. Steer clear. |

Howdy, the IPT ad at least reads well. They both classified as McSchools? |

Dunno if they are classed as fill-blown Maccers. No flat is thrown in, for one. No hours guaranteed. None of the safety net. The hourly rate is marginally less miserable than a Mac, but not by enough.
Have not read the IPT ad. What does it say? Doubt it mentions lying to teachers about registering them on return from abroad, and then having their visas cancelled instead. Sneaky, eh?
In fact, I had heard that the tax office hit them good and proper last year. One disgruntled ex-employee too many, I guess. Still, shows you to some degree what you're getting in bed with, no matter how well worded the advert may be.
Avoid... |

Umm tastes like ass (and not in a good way). Well, I'll drop that idea as though it was a radioactive leper.
Thanks Sasha.
Every job in Moscow looks like an endurance of the Ludovico treatment from the Clockwork Orange. |

Not sure about them. Could be mixing up with another school run by an English fellow. But it is mainly on the negative side of the opinions, I have heard.
Other posters will know more than I do, I'm sure. |

I just received an email from them. I couldn't locate a website to learn more about the positions in Russia. However, after reading the posts, I think I'll pass. I didn't see the mention of single agency remotely reputable.
Back to entertaining thoughts of Turkey for my next gig. |

Especially when contemplating job offers in a country like Russia.always try to get advice from independent persons who are there and may be in the know-the postings on this thread offer some excellent advice-and warnings!Don't be fooled by the prestige sounding name of a company either as it can mean nothing and guarantees even less-for example,I once worked for a firm with the name 'Oxford Crown' suggesting academics and presumably a serious outfit where I couldn't go wrong etc....needless to say my illusions were soon shattered-but that's a long story!
There are at least two firms in central Moscow I know of which are run by expats and one of them website on which he gives honest and upfront advice about what working and living in Moscow is like and for that I hold a lot of respect for him.But unfortunately there are many exceptions to him and you have already mentioned at least one of them.Unless you are very brave and resilient in defending your rights when things go wrong, you are effectively at the mercy of your employer over there and be sure that they are well aware of this! |

I don't know about O.C. which was mainly a recruitment business for childrens summer schools in the U.K. that used teaching English to kids to develop their turnover but IPT seems to be going strong, along with Wall St. and other worms, including our much 'beloved' Mac Schools of course! |
