Hello all,

In process of making move to Abu Dhabi. Looking to move to some place with plenty of entertainment options, nightlife, and walkability. Hoping to avoid quiet areas. So far I have the following areas....Al Markaziyah & Al Nahyan. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

You do realize that this is the Gulf and it will be quite a different lifestyle. The nightlife will likely have a different flavor than what you are used to in the US. Abu Dhabi is a bit more staid and conservative than Dubai. Even the most "walkable" areas are too hot to even think about it from about late April to mid-November. The rest of the year has gorgeous weather, but it is VERY hot and VERY humid for the period mentioned. I know that where you currently live, there are 4 seasons and a cold winter, so it can take awhile to acclimate... a year or two or three. Laughing

Another issue in a neighborhood with "entertainment options" and "nightlife" is that you better be a very sound sleeper. In hot climates like this, outdoor activities end up going until the early morning... and you will likely have to be at work by about 7:30 in the morning.

As to specific neighborhoods, I will have to pass you on to current residents for particulars that might meet your needs... and price will also be an issue.

Hey VS,

Thanks so much for giving the heads up concerning weather. Didn't realize the heat would be that bad during the summer months. Shocked
Guess I will have to plan for indoor activities until things cool down a bit.

Not much of a party guy. I would be fine anywhere with a downtown urban feel. Just have a fascination with high rises and city centers. So so tired of looking at trees and mountains.

Thanks again for suggestions. Will keep you up to date on what I find!

Hello USAMATHMAN,

How about checking out the entertainment venues in "Time Out"
before choosing the preferred locations for your accommodation?

If you check out Geronimo's posts, he has been our man on the local music scene in Oman and likely elsewhere for many years now. Laughing
