|
|
I'm looking to go to China ASAP since I need to be back by November. I'm currently looking for unis that do 6 month or shorter contracts and I've only found one so far. There's also Buckland that does short contracts but I'd rather teach adults.
Another option is private schools or business English, but I wouldn't begin to know how to research the good ones and this will be my first experience in China.
Any tips/tricks/resources?
Thanks in advance. |

You will not be accomodated. Universities hire full time employees well prior to the term beginning. Besides, since it seems you are trying to get temp, part time job, for a few months only, it is clear you are not coming here with a Z work visa intended for teaching. Thus, you'd be working illegally. |

Rather than say you will be working 'illegally' I would put it that your employer will likely 'not have the legal right' to hire foreign teachers.
Semantics maybe, but it does put the onus on the employer and I dislike the doctrinaire approach by some posters.
This is China and as soon as you declare a rule, you'll have an exception.
The bigger issue is getting a job teaching adults.
What you want is something now which may be largely weekend that will morph into a full time summer job and then perhaps slow down Sept to November.
I'll PM OP with a contact, assuming I still have it on file. |
