Hi Guys
I have a job offer from Al Sadd Alkabeer trading and contracting
Has anyone worked for them before? or have been offered or job with them?

The Job is is eastern Saudi in Al hasa so it's quite different from other major cities.

Any advice would be great as it is the first time I will go Saudi and job starts end of April!

I don't have the info your looking for, but perhaps someone will eventually stop by.
However....
I would avoid any company that has "...trading and contracting" in their name.

Dear cmp45,

Your post reminds me of advice I give to new teachers here in the States: "If you see the word 'alternative' anywhere in a school's name, run like the wind." Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Why do you think Al Hasa is "quite different from other major cities"?

I would have thought it was very similar to other Saudi cities of comparable size.

I know Al Hasa quite well, including people who work at a number of institutions there, and I have never heard of that company.

If you can give me more details such as where exactly you will be teaching, working hours, pay etc. then I might be able to help.

RE: the working hours, if they are actual 'teaching' hours, would not be considered a good deal, at 13,200 a month, but most likely if they are all inclusive hours, well it might be okay I supose for an entry level gig.
Other considerations...such as... will you be sent to various locations or stay put in one place and the employees come to the school?
Reputation/ accountability of the employer?

Do you mean the salary and allowances total 13200 SAR? If so, that's a rather low offer. Also, the number of hours per week isn't great. How much of those 43 hours are allotted solely for teaching? BTW, what type of visa would you have?

I will be in one place so now moving around.
The visa would be a business visa then I will get my iqama (residency card) once I am there when they get my passport.
I have yet to be told of how many teaching hours it is it surely cant be 43 hours a week of teaching it is not doable especially as you have to plan each lesson.

Many recruiters bring teachers over on a business visit visa with the promise of getting them an iqama/work permit and then don't follow through. You might want to ask the recruiter what that process entails. But even so...

ًwell if that is the case that would be breaking the law I have a friend who moved to riyadh and he did they same you give the passport in exchange for iqama once it has been done. Plus they pay flights so it's unlikely they will not go with what they say

Hi Saad86,

Uhmmm................

Ok........... ...................

Nah.................

Wait a minute! Ok......

How do I begin?

1. Qualifications/Experience
2. Credentials
3. Family

There are many other factors that go into giving you a proper response.
These are just a few.

Thank You.

Regards.

For you yes. I am concerned though for your hours. You could also inquire about accommodations and how to get one in Hassa. Since you won't have an iqamah you can't sign a contract with real estate agent your company will have to do that for you. As for your visa, you may have to go on a border run once in a while. Usually across the causeway to Manama, Bahrain. Or even a quick U turn at the border to get the passports stamped out and in.

Is the 12 months experience in the ME specifically The Gulf States and Saudi in particular? The credentials are fine why don't you go to King Faisal University while you're there and find the Shabaka administration that run the prep year there and talk with them. Ask for the hockey coach if he's still there. On second thought don't say hockey coach just say PY supervisor his name begins with P.

If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
