Hi there, I was short-listed for a Skype interview with UKLA Eskişehir and was wondering if anyone has worked at that centre? If anyone has, what are the conditions like? I read that the city is plesant (which would be a big change from Istanbul). Cheers in advance. |

|

I worked in Eskisehir, back in 2003-2004. I worked at a language school, mainly teaching English to students from Anadolu University, and the other Uni in Eski (forgot the name....).
Eskisehir was not a memorable place for me. I did not find the people particularly friendly at all. In most places in Turkey, if you ate in local Turkish restaurants, the staff would be all over you, friendly and inquisitive. This never happened in Eski. The winters in Eski were brutal, with the snow, sleet and mush on the roads.
The place is highly rated because it is a Uni town, with the river, and all the cafes by the river, but aside from that 2k strip of river walk cafes, etc, there was nothing really remarakable or appetizing about the place.
Many other places in Turkey - I have found to be much more friendly and interesting to live.
Ghost in Saudi. |
