Hi,

Does anyone know how it works at the big tesol conference in the USA in terms of wether or not they make offers on the spot that you have to take or turn down or wether they offer you a job and have a few days to respond....how that works??

It depends on the employer. At last year's TESOL Arabia job fair, I was presented a preliminary job offer on the spot and given a couple of weeks to ponder over it, while another employer chose to interview me a second time a month later. I would think that definitive on-the-spot offers aren't likely to happen in most cases since both parties need time to consider what the next step will be to ensure it's the right fit. (The applicant would have to provide more info anyway, including completing an application and submitting verified experience/credentials.) But many applicants do walk away knowing the interviewing experience put them closer to getting hired.
