MOD EDIT

I got my passports back just over a week after handing them over. The new one now has a 6 month visa and an entry stamp from immigration, but the school wouldn't confirm the holiday (today) in time to find a decent price on a flight to Singapore! Crying or Very sad

So, it CAN be done! A fresh immigration stamp cost US$10 on top of the visa renewal.
