Does anyone have any information on leasing a car in Saudi Arabia? I am going to be teaching in Abha starting in late August. My contract ends in early June. I have been told that it is very difficult to get around Abha without a car, even though I will have friends with cars and I have the option of hiring a driver.
What I would like to know is if anyone has any experience leasing a car in KSA? My leasing period would be just under a year. Does anyone know how much it would cost per month? What would be the deposit? I have never leased before, so this is all new to me. I would be most appreciative if someone could help. Thank you. |

I have been in Abha while working in Khamis Mushait and if I were ever back in KSA I would just buy a car that I planned to either sell or give away when I left. You can find a cheap car if you just look around and/or ask your students. Just make sure the lights, brakes and A/C are in working order before you buy and if you get an auto transmission be sure to change the filter & fluid in it as well as do all normal (but not done in KSA) maintenance things. You can buy the biggest land yacht you can find because gas is free (almost) in KSA. |
