It appears that a student slugged a teacher at IPA and absolutely nothing happened to the student. What a great place to work!

When a student tried that at JECPT/CADRE the student was transferred to another teacher. The school didn't bother to let the other teacher know why he was transferred.

If this event occurred between November 2011 and January 2012 in Dammam, I may be the teacher involved.
One of my students at advanced level was being rather arrogant and lazy. He demanded to see his current scores for participation etc - which were low because he had not actually done any HW yet, about half way through the course. I told him his score would improve if he did some, and by way of encouragement I showed him a recent quiz in which he had done well. He refused to accept my words, and pushed me in the back as I was leaving the room. Of course I reported this to the English Dept. Coordinator, and the student was put on a disciplinary alert, but he was allowed to remain in the class. There was a marked improvement in his attitude. However, I am no longer at IPA, so cannot say what the final result was. Will welcome discussion - if you were at IPA then, you'll know who I am ! Best Wishes.

Hmmm, "slugged" "pushed" - a bit of a difference there.

There's an IPA in Dammam? I thought that they were in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Also... we seemed to have had no confirmation on the rumor presented by the OP.

Makes sense... why hasn't it been mentioned here enough to stick in my mind? Is Dammam the smallest? Or just the quietest? Laughing

Yes, to both - well, at least it WAS the quietest until this incident.
