|
|
I am thinking about working for Linguarama (have been shortlisted for September vacancies) teaching biz English around Europe.....I have some business experience and I think I'd enjoy a more focused approach to teaching (rather than general conv. English).
........On the other hand I've been offered several posts in China (EF in X'ian and Shenzhen) which would of-course be a totally different experience.
At the mo my mind is slightly in favour of Linguarama, with its emphasis on biz english and given it will be my first teaching job abroad I'll be able to adapt quicker to a 'European' way of life...then again China sounds mouth watering too!
Any advice / opinions / ideas on how best to make my mind up would be very much appreciated - THANKS!! |

EF is actually EL (English Last); or was it MF (Money First)? |

I've been teaching at an EF for about 10 months now.
Maybe my school is an exception to the rule but the school I work at is a decent site to work at.
However, I think that of the two choices above, I'd probably choose the European one. |

EF is one of the worst schools to work for in China. All of the franchises will work you to death. The pay is low. Respect from the franchisee for what you do is minimal.
Take the Job in Europe. More money, less hassle, and by gum, you will have the protection of real employment legislation.
Try China, but don't, I repeat, don't work for EF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have no experience with EF- but Linguarama is very professional, rewarding and helpful.
However, it is also the language school that charges the most for its clients while simultaneously paying the least to its teachers in this country. |
