Schools in this desirable location do very little advertising so it's hard to get feel for the ESL market let alone land a position online. If you come here, get a tourist map and locate all the major universities and colleges...then go to them unannounced and talk with admin. You'll almost certainly be offered a positon within a week. Beware private schools here! Most of them are complete shams! (really awful!...I can provide names in a PM). |

I went to Kunming last september and I really loved it. I heard that all the private schools were very bad like you said, but I also heard that uni jobs were few and far between. Is it really as easy as you say? Also I heard that the wages in Kunming are really low because of the number of backpackers coming through all the time. Is this true?
